Installation Steps
Step 1: Turn Off Power
Switch off power to the lighting circuit at your home’s breaker panel. Use a voltage tester to confirm that no electricity is flowing to the installation area.
Step 2: Mount the Bracket
Secure the included mounting bracket to your ceiling junction box using the provided screws. Ensure the bracket is tightly fastened and level.
Step 3: Adjust Hanging Height
Before connecting any wiring, set your preferred hanging height by adjusting the cord, chain, or downrod. Lock in the height using the fixture’s canopy adjustment mechanism.
Step 4: Connect the Wiring
Match the fixture’s wires with the wires from your ceiling:
- Black (live/hot) to black
- White (neutral) to white
- Green or bare (ground) to the house ground wire or ground screw
Secure the connections with wire nuts, and gently tuck the wires into the junction box.
Step 5: Attach the Fixture
Align the canopy or decorative plate with the mounting bracket. Fasten using the screws or caps provided, ensuring the fixture sits flush and secure against the ceiling.
Step 6: Install Light Bulbs
Insert bulbs of the correct type and wattage, as specified for your fixture. If using dimmable bulbs, ensure compatibility with your wall dimmer switch.
Step 7: Restore Power and Test
Turn power back on at the breaker panel. Switch on your light fixture to ensure proper operation.
Important Tips
- Always follow your local electrical codes and regulations.
- For high ceilings, angled mounts, or complex installations, consult a licensed electrician.
- Clean the fixture gently with a soft cloth to maintain its finish and brilliance.
- Avoid over tightening connections, especially on decorative components.
